Published under the title “Zindgi ki awleen Terjihat”, the Gospel of Mark is the second book of the New Testament, attributed to Mark (John Mark). Mark was a close companion and assistant of the Apostle Peter, and according to tradition, much of what is recorded in this Gospel comes from Peter’s eyewitness accounts and teachings.
This is the shortest yet one of the most powerful Gospels in the New Testament, presenting the life and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ in a fast-paced, practical, and impactful style. Its main focus is on the actions and miracles of the Lord Jesus rather than lengthy sermons or parables.
The Gospel of Mark was written especially for non-Jewish (Roman) readers so that they might recognize the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior. Words like “immediately” and “at once” appear repeatedly, highlighting the speed and power of Christ’s ministry.
Mark’s Gospel records events from the baptism of Christ to His crucifixion, death, and glorious resurrection. It concludes with the message that Jesus Christ has risen and commands His disciples to go into the world and preach the Good News.
