Published under the title “Roshni ka Safar”, the Acts of the Apostles is the fifth book of the New Testament, written by Luke as a continuation of his Gospel. It records the history of the early church after the ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The book begins with the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost and tells of the testimonies, miracles, imprisonments, and spread of the faith throughout the Roman Empire by the disciples of Christ. It especially highlights the ministries and missionary journeys of the Apostles Peter and Paul.
The Book of Acts shows how, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the disciples brought the message of the Gospel to the ends of the earth—despite opposition, persecution, and imprisonment.
It reminds every believer that the mission of the church is still ongoing—the same mission Christ gave His disciples in the Great Commission:
“You will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
